Max Lee
CEO, Co-founder

Max is an entrepreneur by day, engineer and finance buff by night. At Pantas, Max focuses on understanding and solving our users' pain points by working on product development and keeping Pantas on track.


In January 2017, Max founded Pyxis, an alternative data analytics startup based in New York City (NYC), leveraging one of the world's widest arrays of consumer data sets. Max led and executed the analytics across hundreds of product segments and thousands of merchants informing PE/VC due diligence, corporate strategies, and product development initiatives. Pyxis was acquired by Bain & Company in December 2019, and Max stayed on to run Pyxis within Bain before founding Pantas.


Prior to Pyxis, Max was a portfolio manager at Fore Research & Management, an NYC-based hedge fund, focusing on fixed income and special situation investments. Max started his career at HSBC Securities in NYC as an investment banker in the leveraged finance group.


Born in a small town in Perlis, Max spent his formative years in the suburb of Alor Setar, Malaysia, before heading to Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, to pursue an engineering and economics degree. Max is an avid traveller, chef, foodie and runner. When he is not busy with Pantas, hosting friends for dinner, or out running, you can find him venturing around the world for delicious food.

Nurul Syaheedah Jes Izman
COO, Co-founder

Syaheedah's responsibility in Operations and Go-to-Market Strategy at Pantas is an extension of her 12 years of Wall Street experience. She brings to Pantas creative solutions for all tasks from the simple to the complex. Syaheedah is a believer and proven continuous process improvement practitioner as attested by the many development projects in her previous organizations.


Prior to Pantas, Syaheedah was the Director in Third Point's Operations Group and a member of the Valuation Committee. Third Point is a leading New York City-based hedge fund. Syaheedah was a part of the industry's only all-women Structured Credit desk on Wall Street. Syaheedah's previous experience includes her role as Assistant Vice President at Citigroup as well as Assistant Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.


After completing her secondary school in Tunku Kurshiah College in Malaysia, she went on to graduate from New York University's Stern School of Business with a double major in Finance and International Business.


On Syaheedah's bucket list is to visit every National park in the world along with sipping the best coffee produced in each country. She is a wife and also a mother to a daughter who loves Star Wars and Minecraft.

Eong Tat Ooi
CTO, Co-founder

Eong oversees engineering at Pantas where he sets the right foundation and vision on technology for Pantas to scale and adapt quickly. He is always on the mission to discover superstar coding talent with the right attitude to be part of Pantas' engineering team.


Prior to co-founding Pantas, Eong spent 14 years in software engineering at Bloomberg's headquarters in New York City and the London office where he built the Bloomberg Tradebook trading platform. More recently, he led a team of engineers in developing the machine-learning capabilities of Bloomberg's Regulatory Reporting premium enterprise product.


Eong grew up in Bukit Mertajam, Penang where he never experienced four seasons until he stepped right into the punishing winters of the American Mid-West attending the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering and a minor in Economics, which kickstarted his interest in Fintech.


Eong is big in giving back to society. Every quarter he would organize volunteering activities for his previous team. He has volunteered at the soup kitchen, cleaned up beaches, gardened, painted rooftops and handmade holiday cards.

Sharon Khor
Advisor

Sharon has over 24 years of extensive consulting and hands-on operational experience in both the Retail Banking and Insurance industries. At Accenture and IBM, she has served a number of multinational organisations working in multiple domains ranging from strategy, target operating model design to large scale, complex transformation initiatives implementation.


At AIG and AXA Asia, Sharon has led the implementation of key strategic initiatives including setting up a new Line of Business in China and implementing a General Insurance Platform to digitize the end-to-end sales process across the Asia region.


Her work experience spans multiple markets in Asia including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, India, Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Datuk Noripah Kamso

Datuk Noripah was a banker for 30 years. She previously served as chairman of Bank Kerjasama Rakyat Malaysia, advisor to CIMB Islamic Wholesale Banking, and CEO of CIMB Futures. She was the founding CEO of CIMB Principal Islamic Asset Management and pioneered the listing of the world's first regional ASEAN ETF.


The common good and shared values in finance that apply to the principles of Islam, Ethics, Responsibility, and Sustainability, are universal values close to Datuk Noripah's heart. It is with this passion that Datuk Noripah and her husband co-taught Islamic finance at Drake University, USA, and they currently lecture at St Joseph University, Lebanon. Alongside her position as Global Advisory Board Member of IFN (Islamic Finance News), she was also a visiting Fellow in Islamic Finance at Oxford Center for Islamic Studies (OCIS), University of Oxford, UK, from 2016-2017.


Datuk Noripah wrote the globally acclaimed book "Investing in Islamic Funds. A Practitioner's Perspective"; and was recognised as the most influential woman in Islamic Business and Finance by Cambridge International Financial Advisory in 2019.

Dato' Fadzli Shah Bin Anuar

Dato' Fadzli has over 17 years of experience in digital technology & startups. He received his education at University College London, Harvard University, and London Business School. After 2 venture exits in Europe, he returned to Malaysia in 2011 as an active proponent for the localisation of proven business models into an ASEAN context.


As the founding partner of Team Venture Capital, he invested in startups that scaled across Southeast Asia and advocated for tech ecosystem development as the president of the Technopreneurs Association of Malaysia. Most recently, he led the policy development for digital and 4IR technologies as key thrusts of Malaysia's national plan as the Chief Strategy Officer of the Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation.


Dato' Fadzli is currently the Managing Director of Awesome Digital Assets which catalyses the adoption and commercialisation of Blockchain applications across a myriad of industries throughout ASEAN's nascent markets.

Pantas wants to lead by example by reducing the negative climate impact of our own operations. Therefore, Pantas has committed to reduce our absolute emissions by 38% by 2030 from a 2021 base year and has also committed to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions across the value chain by 2033.
